Baby, it’s hot outside!

Greet the heat wave in Key West with a cool drink in your hand! 

Here are the super easy recipes of my favorite quenchers for grown-ups and kids.

Cucumber Cooler

1 large cucumber

1/2 cup fresh lemon juice

1 cup basil leaves

1/2 cup agave syrup

3 cups of sparkling water

1 cup of crushed ice

Mix all the ingredients except the sparkling water in a blender; pour about half of the cup of puree over ice cubes into a tall glass, top up with sparkling water.

Peach Ice Tea

3 peaches, sliced

a few sprigs of mint

3 tbs cane sugar

6 cups of Twinings peach black tea, chilled

Blueberries for garnish

Mix the iced tea with sugar; add the remaining ingredients to taste. Serve chilled.

Watermelon Slush

5 cups diced seedless watermelon

1 tablespoon of sugar

2 cups of Ice

Blackberries for garnish

Mix the watermelon, sugar and ice in a blender, add blackberries when served

Pink Lemonade

2 cups of sparkling raspberry lemonade

2 cups of grapefruit juice

1 cup of crushed ice

Strawberry popsicles for garnish and extra sweetness

Mix the juice, lemonade and ice in a blender; add the popsicles right before serving.
